いまさらですが、Solaris 10 3/05 GA だと、新しい smpatch (´・ω・`)ﾃﾗｳｻﾞｽ
Solaris 10 Update 1 では適用済みなので逃げ道ありません。

This patch replaces the orignal Solaris 10 version of the 'smpatch'
command. If you have been using the Solaris 10 'smpatch' command to
manage patches on your Solaris 10 system, the new version will require
that you register your Solaris 10 system *before* using it to access
patches. Please refer to the instructions found at:
http://updates.sun.com/getstarted for further details.
This patch provides a new version of the infrastructure that underlies
the Solaris 10 Patch Manager and smpatch commands. Those tools will
not operate until you register your system.
The software installed depends on the software present in the Solaris
10 End User metacluster, and may not function if installed on a smaller
metacluster
