Nevada build 66 ベースの BFU ですが、pNFS がリリースされました。
SPARC/x86 BFU と source code が公開されています。

pNFS は、Parall NFS とか NFS v4.1 とも呼ばれるもので、データの記録を metadata と実データに分け、別々のサーバに配置し、パフォーマンスなどを向上させようというもの。
metadata が記録されるサーバは、 metadata server (MDS) と呼ばれ、実データが記録されるサーバは data server (DS) と呼ばれる。
なので、使ってみる場合は、client, MDS, DS と 3 つのコンポーネントが必要になるのですか。
でも、MDS と DS は、1つのサーバ上に構築できるようなので、単純に利用するだけなら、それほど難しくないっぽい。
Solaris の実装では、DS の記録領域は、ZFS にする必要があるのかな？

zfs.kext つっこんだ人キタ━━━━(゜∀゜)━━━━!!

zpool create すると /Volumes に mount されるのか。
reboot 時の zfs.kext を load させる方法に困ってるっぽいけど、とりあえず動いてるみたい。

訂正きたー。
ZFS は、デフォルトのファイルシステムとして採用していないだけで、きちんと含まれているとのこと。ただし、Read only だって。

"ZFS is not the default file system for Leopard. We
are exploring it as a file system option for high-end storage systems
with really large storage. As a result, we have included ZFS -- a
read-only copy of ZFS -- in Leopard."

マーケティングのお偉いさんが、"ZFS is not happening" って口にした噂が・・・
WWDC でも特に ZFS が keyword として登場したわけでもなく・・・
ZFS 搭載だお！って煽っといて、実は搭載されていないと言うのが真の目てｋ（ｒｙ
今頃、全力で zfs がらみのコードを cleanup 作業してたりして・・・
その前のエントリの件は fake なんだろうか？
ちなみに、あの人があそこで言ったのに！とか必ず言われてますね・・・

WWDC 会場で配られた Beta は、ZFS Readonly implemntation　なのですか。
all functionality enabled に誰かしてないかな？

I just installed the Leopard beta that was distributed at WWDC. Sadly, the installer provided no ZFS option (the only options were HFS Extended Journaled and a case-sensitive version of the same).

However, typing this in the terminal:

$ sudo zpool status

Returned this:

ZFS Readonly implemntation is loaded!
