Sun xVM Guest Additions Early Access (xVM Server 用 PV driver)

xVM Server の dom0 (HVM domain) で動作する Windows の I/O 性能を向上させる PV driver (ParaVirtualization driver) の Early Access 版が公開されました。

SUSE でいうと SUSE Linux Enterprise Virtual Machine Driver Pack みたいなやつの xVM 版。もしくは、Xen だと Xen PV Drivers for Windows の xVM 版みたいな感じです。

Sun xVM Guest Additions (Early Access) provides an early version of the Windows Paravirtualized Drivers for use with Windows 2008, Windows 2003 SP2 and Windows XP guests running on xVM hypervisor or Sun xVM Server (Early Access).

対応 OS は、

Windows Server 2008 32-bit installed as an HVM guest
Windows Server 2003 32-bit installed as an HVM guest
Windows XP 32-bit installed as an HVM guest

と、32bit のみです。
一緒に配布されるマニュアルを見た限りでは、

- Windows Management Instrumentation
- RDP 接続可能なように構成してくれる

のような機能も追加されるようです。
Live Migration, Save/Restore はサポートされていないよう。

xVM Server もしくは、xVM hypervisor (OpenSolaris や Nevada に提供されているもの)で動作する Windows Guest にインストールすることで利用可能です。
